Baking Sheet
- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 3/4 cup smooth peanut butter
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- extra granulated sugar for rolling
- 36 whole Hershey's Kisses unwrapped
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
Beat softened butter and smooth peanut butter in a large bowl until well blended. Measure and add in 1/3 cup granulated sugar and brown sugar. Stir until light and fluffy.
Add egg, milk, and vanilla extract; stir well.
Stir flour, baking soda, and salt into the peanut butter mixture until just incorporated. Scrape the sides of the bowl and mix again briefly.
Scoop into cookies using a 1 1/2 tablespoon scoop. Roll in between your palms, and then roll in granulated sugar. Place on baking sheets.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until very lightly golden in color. Remove from oven and immediately press a Hershey's Kiss into each cookie.
Cookies will crack around the edges when you press the chocolate in…totally normal! Cool for 5 minutes on the hot baking sheet and then remove to cooling racks.
Store cooled cookies in airtight containers for up to three days.
- Tip 1: Store leftover cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. For longer storage, consider freezing them.
- Tip 2: You can freeze the unbaked cookie dough balls. Just roll them in sugar, place them on a baking sheet to freeze, then transfer to a freezer bag. Bake directly from frozen, adding a minute or two to the baking time.
- Tip 3: These cookies pair wonderfully with a glass of cold milk or a warm cup of coffee.
- Tip 4: Feel free to add in chocolate chips or chopped nuts to the dough for extra texture and flavor.
- Tip 5: You can switch the Hershey's Kisses for seasonal candies like peppermint or caramel-filled chocolates for a festive twist.
