- 3 cups Bread Flour plus extra for dusting
- 1.5 teaspoons Kosher Salt plus extra for sprinkling
- 0.75 teaspoons Instant Yeast
- 1.5 cups Warm Water around 105°F
- 4 tablespoons Olive Oil plus extra for coating pans
- 1.5 cups Pizza Sauce
- 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
- 15 slices Pepperoni optional
- 1 bunch Fresh Basil Leaves for garnish, optional
In a large bowl, combine the Bread Flour, Kosher Salt, and Instant Yeast. Stir them together so they're evenly mixed.
Pour in the Warm Water and Olive Oil. Use a wooden spoon or spatula to mix everything together until the dough starts to come together.
Once you achieve a rough dough, knead it in the bowl for about 2 minutes. It doesn’t need to be perfect—just enough to bring everything together.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the dough rest at room temperature for about 2 hours. This resting time is essential.
Lightly oil a 10-inch cast-iron skillet. Make sure the oil coats the bottom and sides of the pan well.
Transfer the risen dough into the pan. Use your hands to gently press it evenly, stretching it to cover the bottom and edges.
Spread Pizza Sauce evenly over the dough. Try not to overdo it, as you don’t want a soggy crust.
Sprinkle Shredded Mozzarella Cheese on top. Use your hands to distribute it evenly.
Preheat your oven to 450°F. Place the skillet in the oven once heated. Bake the pizza for about 15 to 25 minutes.
Once baked, remove the skillet from the oven. Garnish with Fresh Basil Leaves if desired, and let it cool slightly. Slice and serve immediately!
