- 1/4 cup fresh squeezed lime juice about 3 limes
- 3 ½ tablespoons Vietnamese fish sauce or more to taste
- 2 tablespoons sugar brown or white
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 Thai chile minced (optional)
- ½ cup warm water
Start by squeezing the juice from about 3 limes to get approximately 1/4 cup of fresh lime juice.
Next, take a mixing bowl and add the fresh lime juice. To this, add 3 ½ tablespoons of Vietnamese fish sauce.
Now, measure out 2 tablespoons of sugar and add it to the bowl.
Add in 2 cloves of minced garlic to the mixture.
If you like a little spice, finely chop 1 Thai chile and add it to your dressing.
Finally, pour in ½ cup of warm water to the bowl.
Once the dressing is ready, taste it!
Let the dressing sit for at least 10 minutes before serving.
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
- Tip 1: Substitute most of the lime juice with unseasoned rice vinegar, if desired.
