Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons Ground cinnamon
  • 1.5 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 0.5 cup Salted butter at room temperature
  • 1 cup Granulated white sugar
  • 3 tablespoons Maple syrup
  • 1 Large egg
  • 0.5 cup Granulated white sugar for rolling
  • 0.5 cup Maple sugar for rolling

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cinnamon, baking powder, and baking soda. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg and maple syrup. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until just mixed.
  • In a small dish, mix together the topping sugars.
  • Roll the dough into 1-inch balls, and roll the balls in the sugar mixture. Place the cookie dough balls 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until the cookies are crackly on top and look wet in the middle.
  • Remove the cookies from the baking sheets to cool on wire racks.

Notes

  • If you cannot find maple sugar, mix ½ cup regular sugar with 1 tablespoon maple syrup. Stir until well combined and the clumps are gone.
