Equipment

  • Chef's Knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Wooden Spoon

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Strawberries hulled and chopped
  • 1/3 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 gallon 2% Milk or nut milk of choice
  • Additional Chopped Strawberries for garnish if desired

Instructions

  • Start by gathering your ingredients: strawberries, sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and milk. It’s always best to use fresh, ripe strawberries, so pick the sweetest ones you can find.
  • In a medium-sized pot, combine the hulled and chopped strawberries, sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Stir everything together gently, ensuring that the strawberries are well coated with the sugar to help them release their juices.
  • Place the pot on medium-low heat. As the mixture heats up, the strawberries will begin to soften and release their juices. Keep stirring frequently to prevent sticking and to help the sugar dissolve.
  • After about 15 to 20 minutes, keep an eye on the mixture. You’ll notice that it has thickened into a lovely sauce as the strawberries break down. The color should be a vibrant red, and the aroma will be heavenly!
  • Once the sauce has thickened, remove the pot from heat. Allow it to cool on the counter or place it in the refrigerator for a quicker chill. The sauce will continue to thicken as it cools, creating a perfect consistency for your drink.
  • Now it’s time to assemble your Korean Strawberry Milk. Take a tall glass and add about a 1/4 cup of the cooled strawberry sauce. For a decorative touch, you can smear the sauce around the inside of the glass using a spoon.
  • If you want to add even more flavor, feel free to toss in some additional diced strawberries at this stage. This not only enhances the taste but also makes the drink look even more inviting.
  • Finally, pour in your milk, stirring gently to incorporate the strawberry sauce throughout the drink. The colors will blend beautifully, creating a lovely pink hue.
  • Take a moment to admire your creation before enjoying your homemade Korean Strawberry Milk. The blend of creamy milk and sweet strawberries is sure to please!

Notes

If you have any leftover strawberry sauce, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. You can also freeze it in ice cube trays for later use, popping a cube into your milk whenever you crave a refreshing drink!
