Large Pot
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- ¼ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Guittard is my favorite
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- ⅔ cup evaporated milk One 12-ounce can will make a double batch of hot fudge. Just double the other 3 ingredients as well.
In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, stir together butter and chocolate, until chocolate is melted.
Stir in powdered sugar and evaporated milk. Mixture will be very thin.
Increase heat to slightly more than medium and bring mixture to a low boil. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring continuously, until thickened.
Remove saucepan from heat and let cool for 5 to 10 minutes. It will thicken more, the longer it cools.
- Tip 1: Recipe makes about 1 cup of Hot Fudge Sauce.
- Tip 2: For a double recipe, use the whole 12-ounce can of evaporated milk and then double the butter, chocolate chips, and powdered sugar.
- Tip 3: For even more chocolate flavor, double the amount of chocolate chips.
- Tip 4: Store in the refrigerator in a covered container for up to 3 weeks.
- Tip 5: Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave.
