Mixing Bowl
- 1 lb Shrimp
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- ¼ teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
- ½ cup Honey
- ¼ cup Low-Sodium Soy Sauce
- 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil
- 3 teaspoons Minced Garlic
- 1 teaspoon Fresh Ginger
Remove shells and veins from 1 lb shrimp.
Season shrimp with ½ teaspoon salt and ¼ teaspoon black pepper.
Mix marinade/sauce ingredients in a measuring cup or a bowl: ½ cup honey, ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce, 1 teaspoon sesame oil, 3 teaspoons minced garlic, and 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger.
Place shrimp in a ziploc bag or a bowl, add marinade and stir to coat the shrimp. Close the bag or cover the bowl and marinate for 30 minutes in the fridge.
Heat up 1 tablespoon olive oil in a pan.
Remove shrimp from the bag with cooking tongs and cook in the pan for 2 minutes on each side or until pink. Remove onto a plate.
Once done, add remaining marinade to the pan and bring to simmer. If you want to make it thicker, mix 2 teaspoons of cornstarch with 2 teaspoons of water and add to the sauce. Simmer until thick.
Serve sauce over shrimp or toss shrimp back to the pan and stir in.
- Tip 1: I used jumbo size but medium works perfectly too.
- Tip 2: You can use fresh or jarred ginger.
- Tip 3: I recommend low-sodium soy sauce to control the sodium in the recipe.
- Tip 4: The nutrition value can vary depending on what product you use.
