Equipment

  • Wooden Spoon
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk
  • Large Pot

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Whipping Cream
  • 2 cups Fresh Strawberries
  • 7 oz Dark Chocolate (70%-75% Cocoa Content)
  • 5 tablespoons Nutella
  • 2 tablespoons Powdered Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Caster Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Lemon Juice

Instructions

  • Start by cutting the dark chocolate into small pieces.
  • Prepare a double boiler by filling the bottom pot with water and bringing it to a gentle simmer. Place the chocolate into the top bowl, along with about a half cup of whipping cream. Stir occasionally until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
  • Once melted, remove the bowl from the heat and allow it to cool.
  • While the chocolate cools, whip the remaining whipping cream with the powdered sugar in a separate bowl. Use a hand mixer or a whisk to beat until soft peaks form.
  • In another large bowl, whisk together the Nutella and a few tablespoons of the whipped cream.
  • Now, gently fold the whipped cream into the Nutella mixture.
  • Next, stir in the cooled dark chocolate until just combined.
  • Divide the mousse into 4 to 5 serving glasses. Make sure not to fill them to the top; leave some space for the strawberries.
  • Cover the glasses with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 to 60 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, rinse the strawberries under running water. Remove any green stems and cut them into small pieces.
  • In a bowl, mix the strawberries with caster sugar and lemon juice.
  • Let this sit in the fridge for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Once the mousse has chilled, top each glass with the marinated strawberries and their juices. Serve immediately and enjoy!
