- 1/2 cup Shortening
- 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 large Egg
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1 cup Sifted All-Purpose Flour
- 3/4 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 6 ounces Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips or Chocolate Chunks
Preheat your oven to 375°F and grease a cookie sheet.
Cream together shortening, granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
Sift together all-purpose flour, salt, and baking soda. Gradually stir into the creamed mixture and blend well.
Add chocolate chips and stir them into the dough.
Drop from tablespoon onto the greased cookie sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
