Equipment

  • Frying Pan
  • Oven
  • Chef's Knife
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Baking Sheet

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces Unsweetened Baking Chocolate chopped
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter sliced
  • 2.67 cups Granulated Sugar
  • 0.25 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 4 large Large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1.33 cups All-Purpose Flour

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This step is crucial for ensuring even baking. If your oven isn’t hot enough, the Brownies may not set properly.
  • Prepare a 9×13-inch pan by lining it with foil and spraying it with nonstick cooking spray. This will help your Brownies come out of the pan effortlessly.
  • In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the unsweetened baking chocolate and unsalted butter. Heat in the microwave on high power in 30-second increments. Stir between each increment until the mixture is fully melted and smooth, which should take around 2 minutes.
  • Once melted, remove the bowl from the microwave and stir in the granulated sugar and unsweetened cocoa powder using a spatula or wooden spoon. Mix until fully incorporated.
  • Add the large eggs and vanilla extract to the mixture, stirring well. The mixture may appear grainy, but that’s completely normal.
  • Next, gently fold in the salt and all-purpose flour. Be careful not to overmix; you want to combine the ingredients just until there are no more flour streaks. This will ensure your Brownies remain fudgy.
  • Pour the batter into your prepared pan, spreading it out evenly. It should look thick and luscious.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 35 minutes. Keep an eye on them; the top should lose its gloss, and a toothpick inserted into the center should come out with just a few crumbs.
  • Once baked, remove the pan from the oven and let the Brownies cool completely before slicing. This helps them set up and makes cutting much easier.

Notes

  • Tip: Add 1 ½ cups of chocolate chips or chopped nuts to the batter after stirring in the flour for an extra layer of flavor.
